Reminders from the Department of Safety
 Now that the start-up of the new school year is behind everyone, we wanted to take a moment to remind you of two important items brought to our attention by Jean Sleeper in the Office of Pupil Transportation.

Proof of School Bus Evacuation Drills:
 All fleets are reminded that proof (via a letter) of having conducted school bus evacuation drills must be submitted to the department by October 15 in order to avoid a notice stating that it is missing from your records. The letter or other form of proof must include the SAU number so that the documentation can be properly posted.

Rostering New Drivers:
 When hiring a new driver who had been working for someone else and was rostered previously by the former employer, you must include them on your fleet's roster as a "new driver" and NOT as a renewal.
